DESCRIPTION
Plucky privateer, Allan Grice, made a racing career out of being a thorn in the side of wealthier, factory-backed outfits. For the 1978 Bathurst 1000 he teamed up with Formula 5000 driver John Leffler and they made an instant impact by qualifying for the Hardies Heroes Top 10 shootout. The number 6 Holden A9X Torana was only able to position itself in 7th place on the starting grid for the Great Race with a lap time of 2:25.950. Holden A9X Toranas took the top two places in Australias premier race for production saloons.
